I started hunting in my teenage years and full-time meat hunting in the early 70s. I have always been a keen trophy hunter and have taken nearly every trophy available in the South Pacific.
I have always farmed to support my hunting habit and recently sold my farm in Eketahuna New Zealand, to take up raising horses for Endurance.
I guided for a Number of years at Kanuka Wilderness Game Estate for Big Reds, Fallow and Arropora Rams, I also guided for Eddie Clark at Australia Outback Buffalo Safaris and John Clark’s at Coralsea Safaris in New Caledonia.

Early morning starts are required to ambush the Deer as they return to the forest after feeding on the open flats at night. As the day warms up we take a position on large hilltops to glass areas, which may locate a rutting Stag.
After having lunch, we reposition ourselves and wait for the Deer to return to the open flats prior to dark. It is quite normal to hear many Stags roaring from our vantage position, and quite possible to see hundreds of Deer at one time.
The deer are processed locally and nothing is wasted.
